June 21 marks the second annual International Day of Yoga as designated by the United Nations. I encourage you to celebrate by setting aside time to practice on that day, and also committing to your own continuing regular home practice.   We are delighted that Karen Allgire will return this spring, April 29, 30, and May 1, to teach workshop classes at Harmony Yoga.  Last year her classes were enjoyed by all who took them. On December 11, 2014 the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 to be International Day of Yoga, about three months after India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea. The General Assembly recognized that Yoga “provides a holistic approach to health and well-being”, and the more information that is disseminated about this practice, the more beneficial it can be for the populations of the world.
