Beginners

Anyone can learn and benefit from yoga. No one is too old or stiff or out-of-shape to start, although you do want to find a class that suits your level of experience.

Harmony Yoga is a great place for you to start learning and practicing yoga in a safe and friendly environment. We provide all the equipment you will need, including yoga mats, although you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer to.

You will learn the basic yoga poses and principals of alignment in the Level 1 and mixed Levels 1 & 2 classes. Gentle Yoga classes are also an option. You are always encouraged to work at your own level of fitness and experience in any class you attend.

Dress in clothes that you can move in easily, and that aren’t too baggy.  Yoga is done with bare feet.

Experienced Yoga Students

If you already have some yoga experience, whether from another Iyengar Yoga studio or another yoga tradition, you are welcome to join us.

If you have experience in another tradition, I ask that you come with an open mind and a willingness to learn in the tradition that I teach (Iyengar Yoga) since it may be quite different than what you are used to.

There are many wonderful ways to practice yoga.   To get the most out of the classes at Harmony Yoga, please follow along with the instructions that are given, even if they are different than what you are familiar with.

Read the yoga class descriptions and come to a class that most fits your experience level.  Note that the highest level class (mixed Levels 2 & 3) is recommended for those who already have a strong background in Iyengar Yoga.
