Feldenkrais Method® Awareness Through Movement® series

Whether you want to overcome injury, reduce chronic aches and pains, improve performance in your favorite activities or simply feel more comfortable in your body – the Feldenkrais Method can help you do these things and more. The Feldenkrais Method, named for its founder, Moshe Feldenkrais is a highly effective mind-body discipline that uses unique movement sequences to bring about change. The movements are gentle, but nonetheless effective and transformative. Group classes and private sessions are offered at Harmony Yoga.

iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation

Taught by Katie King, iRest Level II Trained Teacher
Sundays, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

Integrative Restoration, or iRest for short, is a deeply relaxing guided meditation.  Based on the ancient practice of yoga nidra, or sleep of the yogis, iRest is a secular, evidence-based, mind-body approach that provides the tools to reduce stress, improve sleep, assist with pain management, reduce depression, fear and anxiety, heal trauma, and provide inner peace and well-being.

iRest is practiced lying comfortably on the floor or resting in a seated position against a wall for the entire meditation. No yoga or meditation experience is necessary.

Yoga and Meditation for Seniors

Taught by Kristi Holmstrom, RYT 200
Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Kristi is offering a special class for seniors and those interested in a yoga practice with more support for the body. We will utilize a chair, the wall, and other props to assist the body in being comfortable and finding ease in the poses. In addition to some guided meditation, throughout the session we will focus our attention in the body and on the breath to strengthen our ability to be present.

Introduction to Mindfulness for Parents

Taught by Grace Helms Kotre
Sunday evenings in May (5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27)
Time: 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Cost: $50

Mindful parenting has been shown to decrease stress in both parents and children and to improve the parent-child ​relationship. This class introduces parents and caregivers to the basics of mindfulness and meditation with a focus on handling difficult moments and compassion for ourselves and others.
